Typing with an AI is so 2022! With "Call Pi", you can have a hands-free conversation with Pi, with the option to select one of 4 voices. For when youโre on the move, your thumbs get tired, or if you just need to talk it out. Try it on iOS at https://pi.ai/ios
Hi Pi Bakers, I have been closely following the development of Pi and have been deeply impressed by its natural conversational capabilities and the insightful statements it can produce. The announcement of the "Call Pi" feature was exciting because I always felt Pi would lend itself well to spoken dialogue, potentially more so than other AI models, given the natural flow of its conversations. I've had the chance to experiment with this new feature, and while the idea behind it is innovative and promising, I found the dictation software used (which seems to be Apple's, judging by the app permissions and dictation performance) to be a bit of a hindrance. I conducted some tests with dictation software, and Apple's dictation had a high Word Error Rate of approximately 20% with my Irish dialect and Bose headphones. This made the conversation less fluid and enjoyable than I had hoped. Given the aim of Pi to facilitate supportive, flowing conversations, it seems crucial to have a dictation system that can effectively transcribe spoken words with minimal error. In this context, it might be beneficial to consider using OpenAI's Whisper. In my tests, Whisper demonstrated superior accuracy, significantly improving the user experience. I understand that implementing this might be a complex task, but I believe it could greatly enhance the value of the "Call Pi" feature. I hope this feedback is useful and look forward to seeing Pi's continuous development. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to this impressive platform. Best, Ross

Really cool product! I looked into building with voice and it seemed very difficult. How did you do it, and what kind of problems did you run into?

Looks like what Replika does, but I assume this one uses GPT. I really dig the aesthetic (colors, fontsโฆ) Too bad it's iOS onlyโI'd like to try it out on Android. A reviewer on the app store writes that the they were banned by the app without warning for seemingly no reason. What are the terms by which users abide / aka what would be the reason to suspend an account?

Congrats on the launch ๐ Saw Pi on a Reddit thread a few days back and started using it. Really impressed by the simple and intuitive interface. Talking to Pi felt like a helpful therapy session ๐ I'm curious about a few questions: 1. Are you using ChatGPT API, an open-source model or your own self-trained model? 2. How are you planning to monetize it? 3. Can we expect to see the Android app soon?

The Terms of Service, Privacy and Data policies make me a bit uncomfortable. Although it's wonderful that we're evolving fast towards tools and technology that actually help vulnerable people, not making it abundantly clear that the data isn't private, may be used for several purposes and is accessible by company employees is a step backwards to a good start.

I've been interacting with Pi via text on WhatsApp and it's for the most part pretty incredible. Much further along than other text-interaction AI I've experienced! Exciting that a call version will be available. Are you planning to roll this function out to WhatsApp users and Android users?

Sounds like integrating two open.ai api, whisper and chatGPT in one app :)
