CheckinBee will check in with your loved one each and every day via text message. If a check-in is missed, their designated care circle will be automatically notified to check on them. Two week free trial and then $14/m.
I was just thinking about this after reading the story where a hike got lost and was rescued after 10 days in California. This happens a lot and sometimes these rescue story ends up in a very dark place. I thought about what would be a good solution, because you need to set the right level of check-ins. A few ideas: - auto-detect environment and only sends check-in if the user enters a remote area - pop-ups a notification and asks the users how many days will they be offline (for example, camping in a remote area). - thoughts on leveraging satellite texting? Thank you for building this great product @adam_lack!

This app is a digital lifeline for seniors! It's simple to use and has made their life more convenient and connected. How come you create this idea :) You may able to add more feature in the future as well. Very nice! Congratulations!

Seems really helpful! Does it only use SMS, or will it also support WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger in the future?

This is so cool! Love the idea and the concept. A small suggestion if I may: I think this would be super useful for people who have family members or friends who do solo backpacking, so to eliminate the need for a singular cellphone number (cause they change numbers often depending on the country), would be nice if the messages can be done through WhatsApp, Telegram, etc. Congrats! Love it.

This is a meaningful problem to solve. Thanks for addressing that. Just some opinions from product design perspective, asking elders to repeatedly confirm if he/she is okay may be a not-enjoyable and easy-to-miss task. Have you encountered those issues from users yet? Just an idea that comes to mind (if the technical is feasible), is to let your app track usage or activities of another app that elders usually use in daily routine (facebook, whatapp,..), instead of asking them to confirm directly. If possible, the usage can be analyzed to detect some abnormal activities (for example, the elders reply Yes to reminder, just because they don't want their child to worry, but if the usage data shown that they don't use their favorite app, may be he/she is feeling not good?)

I don't understand how it works, is there something that needs to be set up and then both parties are alerted by text message every day?

This is a cool idea! Just curious doesn’t a text message feel better if it is more authentic though, I feel like AI slightly reduces that. Congrats on the launch.

Thanks for creating an app to solve real-life problems. Though I don't see a use for myself right now, the idea is so heartwarming, and I believe it will be useful for a lot of people who wish to take good care of their loved ones.

I remember following this app not too long ago. It reminds me of the necklace with a button on it that was created for old people in case if they fell or were nearing incapacitation. Great idea, especially for lonely old people nowadays that can die at any moment.

Love this idea - with parents who are almost 80, I'd definitely use it. My one problem for me (and curious if this is the case for anyone else) - my parents don't know how to text (sad, I know) and generally have no interest in learning how to at this point. Is this an edge case or sizable segment of aging population?
