Join the Coliving Semkovo Co-op in Bulgaria! Own a studio, live, and rent out in a 180,000 sq ft ex-ski resort, set for digital nomad coliving, remote team retreats and coworking. Fully-managed studios incl. share in co-op start at $17k +$9k renovation.
I visited this fascinating building during the early backers summit in May 2023. Got really stoked about the potential, so purchased 1 bedroom loft (462 sq.f.) with a mountain view 🏔 Not planning to live here, so will mosly rent out, but still excited to spend some time doing deep work and making deep connections!✨️

Only a short while ago, I discovered that @matthiaszeitler, the brilliant mind behind Coworking Bansko and the vibrant Bansko Nomad Fest—uniting over 900 digital nomads from around the world—is embarking on his latest venture: transforming an ex-ski resort in Semkovo, Bulgaria into a utopia for digital nomads. Imagine a sprawling communal space complete with event locations, an expansive coworking area, private offices, a pool, bar, restaurant, and an array of 200 apartment units of varying sizes. What sets this project apart is its unique co-op model and the sheer size of the space. Here, the resort is owned and managed by the people who own a unit. This sanctuary allows individuals to establish their base, savor a few months of the year in idyllic bliss, all while relying on a professional team to lease out their apartment during their absence—for fellow digital nomads or for remote team retreats. I don't know of any other space on planet Earth where Zapier, GitLab, or similarly-sized remote teams could all meet under one roof in such a beautiful, affordable setting. Three weeks ago, I joined 50+ other attendees of the Bansko Nomad Fest 2023 for a tour of the space and was instantly captivated by its potential. It's a locale designed to foster community and collaboration, yet to bring this vision to life, the co-op needs 100+ pioneers willing to join in the next few days. While extensive renovation is needed, there's a robust plan for renovation and operation in place. Moreover, the apartment prices account for the budget for this transformation.

I decided to invest in this project following on from Matthias' success with Coworking Bansko and also the Bansko Nomad Fest, which has grown to a 700-attendee event. Glad to see it getting off the ground!

Fascinating project. I'm investing in Coliving Semkovo for a number of reasons. First, I believe in the future of remote work. More and more people are working remotely, and I think coliving spaces are the perfect way to create a community for remote workers. Second, I think Coliving Semkovo is a great investment. The apartments are affordable, and the location is beautiful. I'm confident that the value of these apartments will appreciate over time. Finally, I'm excited to be a part of this community. The team behind Coliving Semkovo is passionate about creating a unique and welcoming space for remote workers. I'm confident that this project will be a success. Hopefully, my future nomadic self will also get to use it as some sort of productivity bolthole.
