Today we’re launching end-to-end no-code workflows including spreadsheet-style calcs, data browsing, and endorsements. They live alongside our existing SQL, Python, and AI tools, making Hex the first platform to bring these modalities together in one place.

Hex looks super cool, Barry! The new features seem awesome. How does Hex ensure that the no-code querying and spreadsheet-style functions are powerful enough for advanced users but still easy for beginners to use?

congrats on the launch! the integration of no-code querying and spreadsheet-style functions in hex sounds incredibly intuitive. how do you envision these new features impacting the day-to-day workflow of current users who primarily rely on the traditional SQL and Python tools?

Tried it. But it's way too complex. I think maybe just adding text to the sidebar would help a lot. And maybe the opening view should be a bit more about task that can be performed. Like easy me in to it 😅

I used Hex in a really early version at a previous startup, and it felt promising but early...It's been exciting to see Barry and team deliver on that promise - going from a data scientist focused cloud python notebook to a truly horizontal data tool. I started my career in tech as a data scientist (lots of really slow Hive queries at Yahoo) and I remember using Mode in ~2015, and how useful it was for ad-hoc queries and custom reports. I loved Mode in the early days, but at some point it felt like the evolution stalled, like a promise unfulfilled. Fast forward to a few months ago when we started using Hex at Product Hunt - It sounds like hyperbole but Hex feels like the analytics tool I've dreamed about. It allows for ad-hoc queries while staying relatively close to the data (good for collaboration, traceability), and allows everyone to work with data in their language of choice: sql, python, and now spreadsheets! The charts are beautiful and somehow I never have to think too hard to get the chart I'm looking for. Tufte would be proud. Plus the AI magic really does help someone like me with very rusty SQL get the right answer without banging my head against a wall. Also as a tool builder, it's been really interesting to see how the team has navigated complexity and multiple user paths to similar goals. There's been a ton of craft that goes into this and it shows. Congrats on the launch, Hex team!

I'm a big fan of hex and I've found it's been a super useful tool for us! It makes building and sharing dashboards about our data really straightforward and quick. In fact, just yesterday I was able to go from question about our data to a chart I could share around in almost no time at all 🚀 Congrats on the launch!

Hex is a revelation for data enthusiasts like me! The way it brings together complex datasets and makes them understandable is just fantastic. I've been able to uncover insights that were previously hidden, and the collaboration features are a hit with my remote team. It's like we're all looking at the same dashboard, even though we're miles apart. Hex has truly become the central hub for all our data needs!
