One or more real phone numbers from US or Canadian area codes to text and call for separate parts of your life. ⠀ Work when you want. Talk to family and friends anytime, anywhere. Spam can go to voicemail.
While JMP makes it possible to manage phone numbers without being tied to a major telco, the killer feature is being able to place and receive calls from a desktop or laptop. Texting from a full keyboard relieves me of a major pain point: tapping out characters one at a time on a virtual keyboard on a tiny screen. I have been using JMP for more than a year. Now that the service is exiting beta, I am ready to cut my ties with my current wireless provider. JMP is the best phone service ever.

I've been a beta customer since October 2022, and I ported my main phone number in January. I have never been more happy with a paid service, and I feel the same excitement I did when I first got involved with free open-source software over 16 years ago. The team are super helpful, the service has been great, and the minor bugs I've encountered have often been fixed within hours. You can be confident that this isn't just a marketing stunt: they are definitely beyond beta quality. Being untethered from traditional phone providers while running FOSS is a dream come true!

This is awesome! A feature request: Only allow whitelisted phone calls / sms to go through all else are canceled. 🚀

Congrats on the launch! As well as being a JMP customer myself (so I can have a "work number" to give to people in the US while being in the UK), I collaborate a lot with the team due to the shared values of open-source and open standards that power both their product and Snikket. Everyone at JMP clearly believes in their mission, their customers and their product. Looking forward to life post-beta!

I've been using JMP for over a month now and have already saved a ton on mobile data thanks to their prepaid true pay-as-you-go data plan (something that no major Canadian carrier provides). The setup process isn't straighforward but once you get through it, everything just works!

Top tier quality service with seriously best in class support, and so nice! JMP allows me to have 5 phone numbers for all of my various uses for under $15, which is unreal. And paired with their Android app (Cheogram) i get visual voicemail and integration with my native dialer. A dream come true.

Every time I have to enter my cell phone number during the signup process, I hesitate for a moment, but it would be really handy to have a separate number for that purpose! Do you have any plans to make it possible to create numbers from other countries in the future?

I've been using the JMP beta since September 2018 and it's been an awesome service since the moment I signed up. It's been great to text and call from any device with XMPP clients, without the hassle of dealing with SIP. My feature request: support for purchasing/importing a non-US number.
