What about SMS filtering by telcos? One reason we had to give up on URL shorteners was because AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon etc. started filtering text messages (SMS) containing bit.ly, tiny.url etc. I suspect this will be subject to the same filtering eventually. One problem with URL shorteners is that recipients cannot see where they end up, and therefore a great way for scammers to send fishing attempts.

I love this! Compliance often gets eyerolls and people find it difficult to deal with, but it is so important. Great idea and good luck with this!
